Doris und Hamayaun Kabir founded the aid association "Schulpropjekt Bangladesh e.V.” along with other dedicated persons in June 2012, they are also members of the association’s committee.

In 2003 Doris’ father-in-law Dr. Nazir Ahmed gave up part of his family’s land for the school to be built on and at the same time he founded the school. In the 1960s Nazir Ahmed studied agricultural economics and veterinary medicine in Germany and Denmark and throughout his working life ran many agricultural projects, for example animal breeding and husbandry, as well as zoo projects. He founded university facilities and taught there. Amongst other activities he was also advisor for the GTZ (Gesellschaft für technische Zusammenarbeit, now Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit = Society for International Cooperation) and world bank. Nazir Ahmed died in March 2012. Doris und Mohammad Humayaun carry on with the project in his spirit.

The Nobel Prize winner Mohammad Yunus has been a friend and business partner of Dr. Nazir Ahmed for many years. Yunus gave families small loans from the Grameen Bank so that they could buy land and animals to enable them to be independent from large landowners. Nazir Ahmed then undertook practical training with these families who had no agricultural experience.
